Assholes

Yikes, I'm tired, so hopefully this entry will make a bit of sense. This isn't right - it's only 11:30pm, I've only been up since 10 this morning, and I'm zonked. I'm blaming it on allergies and on the stress of the job hunt.

Which leads me to my rant. Remember how I've been trying to get in touch with that guy from Investor's Group about maybe coming in for an interview? How we keep playing phone tag, so his assistant gave me a specific time he'd call today? That was noon.

So I got up, showered, made my coffee and proceeded to sit down and worry myself over the stupid goddamn phone call. I tried to read, found I couldn't. But I kept trying because after all, what the hell else was I going to do?

But as the time passed, so did the nervousness. Noon came and went and no phone call. I made my lunch. Watched my soap. Did the dishes. Finally, at about 2:20, I decided to stop waiting by the unringing phone, and call Investors' Group myself.

When I got the main receptionist, she told me that both the guy and his assistant weren't in the office. I asked if she expected them to return at all today. Nope.

So. I sat here, waiting, not wanting to even go take a fucking piss for fear that the phone would ring the second I sat down for nothing. My dad had gone out so even he couldn't have answered it. But when I finally gave in 'cause my bladder felt like it was going to explode, the phone was silent.

I've become very bitter towards Investors' Group. That's not a good thing. I haven't even started working there, and I already have a great deal of anger, at least toward this one asshole.

I realize that yes, I'm the one who wants a job. But he's also the one who posted an ad for available positions. He doesn't call when he's supposed to. The days he does call, he waits until the last second before he's going to walk out the door to call and then probably wonders why I'm not sitting there, hand poised over the receiver like a good little job-hunter. By the time I call back, he's gone.

So I wonder - does he do this to potential clients (i.e. investors)? Because if he does, he may find his ass out on the sidewalk. If I had money to invest, I don't think I'd trust a company that doesn't even call when it's supposed to.

Fuck.

Sorry about the rant. But I'm just so bloody frustrated with the difficulty of finding a job!! Now I'm hoping more than ever that Sunlife/Clarica, or Standard Life will call me on Monday and ask me to come in for an interview.

This is just getting ridiculous.

(Endnote: I promise to try to write something on a subject OTHER than my job search in my next entry. If I remember. I realize that you're all probably getting sick of hearing me blab about this, so I'll do my best. :) )
