Good to Know

I'm feeling slightly better today than I was last night. I called the Normes du travail a little while ago and discovered that the company CANNOT retain any portion of my paycheck. Yay!! I didn't give any names because I don't want them breathing down the company's neck... yet. If they still decide to fuck with me, well, then it's each person for him/herself.

It's just nice to know, because I was a little worried that maybe I was wrong, and they would be able to doc me. If that had happened, I would've gone in on Friday and played a round of Bullshit, and hope that I'd be convincing. It's a relief to know I won't have to do that, that I'll be able to tell them with complete confidence that they are out of line.

I wonder what time I'll get home on Friday - it totally depends on how long I have to argue with them.

I bought Hayley's birthday present today. It looks like a lot of fun, and you can see it here. Go ahead, see the demo. I'm disappointed that you can't hear the music on the demo, but it's real fun music. I hope she likes it :)

I've decided to print The Book up here on my printer. I have a laser printer so it's pretty fast. I was just concerned about running out of ink (and paper), but the printer places charge way too much for a document this size. I figure it'll end up being about 900 pages, and the cheapest place I found in the area charged 6 cents a page, which would cost me $54. Uh, no thanks. Besides, I still have a ridiculous credit at the McGill Computer Store, so since I'll be in the area on Friday with time to spare while I wait to get my check, I'll pop over there and buy some more paper and another ink cartrage. As it is, I haven't had to replace the ink since I got the printer, which was 4 years ago. That's after many copies of many papers, many pages printed out from the net, etc. Just cross your fingers that it doesn't suddenly decide to run out at a very crucial moment. At least not before Friday.

And speaking of The Book I should really get back to it. I think I'll print out chapter one so that I can work on that when my wrists and fingers feel like they're gonna fall off.
