2003-08-19 New Look I've long been dying to change the picture at the top of my journal, but as I was always using my dad's computer when online, I didn't want to actually go to my journal and thus have my address in the drop-down menu for him to find and go read. But alas, McGill gives me a shortened amount of time online these days, so I decided to use it now to make some changes. Somehow, this picture turned out better on my page than did the previous one. Not much else is going on with me. I'm over half-way through typing the book, but that still means that there's over 300 pages yet to type. My wrists and hands are complaining a lot, since lately I've been pushing myself to get more and more done. Once I finally get a job and start working, I won't have as much time to be doing this, so the more I can get done, the better. There are a lot of things that have to be fixed or deleted altogether, but that's for later. Although that major editing stage is very tedious, at least I might have some opportunity to be creative again, rewriting scenes, or writing entirely new ones, whereas now it's like typing up a book you've read. The need to be write and be creative is pretty strong these days. It's made even worse by the fact that I know a great deal of what's going to happen in Book 2, the continuation of this one, and to be totally honest, it sounds a lot more exciting than the first. I guess it's because when I first embarked on this project, I wasn't planning on it being two separate books, so I wasn't thinking that Book 1 would have to stand on its own two legs. I know that really all that's needed are more action scenes. It's a little too lovey-dovey for my tastes. Romantic scenarios are fine and all, but I want some action and maybe even some violence in the books I read and write. Of course, one of the main backbones of this book is romance. It may not sound terribly original, for its a forbidden romance, but if it helps any, it's between a human and a faery, a big no-no in the faery world. And that's all I'm saying for the time being on the plot of the book. There's a lot more to it, and some of that will come out in Book 2 - you know, the repercussions and what-not. I know I promised to post a description of the book, the idea, but I need to find out more about how one copywrights before I do so. All I'd need is to have written all this and some fucking shmuck (sp?) come along and steal it on me. Anyway. It is almost time for lunch, and for my soap to come on. |
