2003-08-21 Such a Dork Sometimes I surprise myself with my own stupidity. I had to make some changes here, and I wanted to then look at the page. Since I'm on my dad's computer and I don't want him reading this, I decided that I'd clear the history so he couldn't get the url. But It's not a huge deal, especially since I still have this place. Last night I had a dream that I was working in the CA firm that I went to the interview for yesterday. I woke up feeling really happy about that (despite the severe congestion this summer cold has given me), and I'm hoping that maybe it was some mystical sign that either tomorrow or Monday I'm going to get a call from the partner in charge making me an offer. See, unlike any of the other jobs I've interviewed for, I can't think of anything about it that I don't like. No downfalls. Even that private Jewish school had a couple of slight downfalls: I'd be working until 6 pm every night, and it'd be pretty much the same job as I had at the School of Architecture. While I loved working at the School, I'd sort of like to do something a little different, see how I'd fare in a different environment. At this place, it's 8:30 to 5, but the early start is fine since a) it's not really that far from home and b) even when I worked at architecture, which was a few subway stops further, I was usually there by 8:15 and in the office by 8:30. The work sounds fine, and she mentioned that I would have a bit of responsibility (obviously, since I'd have to make sure that the financial statements are in order), which is something I'm looking for. The woman I'd work for seems super nice. The office is made up of a diversity of people of varying age. It's in a really nice part of the city. There might sometimes be a little overtime, but it's more like staying an extra 15 or 30 minutes a couple times a month, and most of the time it'll be up to me, since if you work hard the rest of the month, all of your work will be done on time. The actual look of the office is nice - very professional. And the people I met seemed very friendly. So. I definitely want this job. She said she'd recommend me, but I don't know how many people she plans on recommending. She might choose 3 or 4, and then put them in a particular order. In any case, I'll call her on Monday afternoon if I haven't heard from the place. Cross your fingers for me, ok? |
